Acceptable use policy

Last updated: June 2026  ·  Mints is in early access. This policy may be updated before general availability. It is not legal advice.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all use of the Mints platform, including its APIs, CLI, SDKs, dashboard, and any services provided under the Mints brand. The AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Mints is financial infrastructure. The trust and integrity of the platform depend on every participant using it lawfully and in good faith. This policy sets out conduct that is incompatible with that trust.

2. Prohibited activities

You may not use the Mints platform to:

2.1 Financial crime

  • Conduct, facilitate, or conceal money laundering, terrorist financing, or the proceeds of criminal activity.
  • Evade sanctions administered by OFAC, the EU, the UN, or other applicable regulatory authorities, or transact with sanctioned individuals, entities, or jurisdictions.
  • Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, phishing, identity theft, or any scheme intended to deceive another person or organization.
  • Structure transactions to evade reporting thresholds or other financial compliance obligations.

2.2 Illegal activity

  • Use the platform in connection with any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of your counterparties.
  • Process payments for illegal goods or services, including controlled substances, unlicensed financial products, or material that is illegal in the jurisdiction of either party.
  • Operate as a money transmitter, payment processor, or financial intermediary without the required licenses and regulatory approvals.

2.3 Platform abuse

  • Probe, scan, or test the platform for vulnerabilities without prior written authorization from Mints (for authorized security research, contact us via the contact page).
  • Perform denial-of-service attacks, excessive scraping, or any other action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the platform's infrastructure.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network component of the Mints platform.
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication controls, spending limits, approval workflows, or other safety mechanisms.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Mints platform except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.

2.4 Harmful content and interference

  • Transmit malware, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious code through or in connection with the platform.
  • Use the platform to harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person or organization.
  • Store, transmit, or process content that is defamatory, obscene, or in violation of applicable law, through any Mints service.

2.5 Circumventing controls

  • Create or operate multiple accounts to circumvent account-level limits, bans, or restrictions.
  • Provide false or misleading information during account creation, identity verification, or in response to a compliance inquiry.
  • Authorize agents or automated systems to act outside the scope of the permissions and spending limits you have set, or to bypass approval workflows in ways not sanctioned by your organization's policy configuration.

3. Your responsibility for agents

You are responsible for all actions taken by agents, systems, and automated processes operating under your account or authorized by your credentials. This includes agents you develop, deploy, or purchase. You must ensure that agents operating under your account comply with this AUP and all applicable laws. If an agent performs a prohibited action, you are accountable.

You should implement appropriate authorization controls, spending limits, and approval workflows to prevent unauthorized or erroneous agent behavior. Mints's approval queue and budget controls are tools to help you do this.

4. Enforcement

Mints reserves the right, without prior notice, to investigate suspected violations of this AUP, and to suspend or terminate access to any account found to be in violation. We may report violations to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or where we deem it appropriate to protect the integrity of the platform and its users.

Where a violation is inadvertent or correctable, we may issue a warning and require remediation before restoring access. The severity of the response is proportional to the nature and impact of the violation.

Termination or suspension under this AUP does not affect any fees accrued prior to suspension, and does not constitute a waiver of Mints's right to pursue other legal remedies.

5. Reporting violations

If you believe another user is violating this AUP, or if you become aware of a security vulnerability or potential abuse of the platform, please report it to us via the contact page. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by in-product notice or email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

7. Contact

Questions about this AUP should be directed to us via the contact page.
